The Humphrey hearts from the Alps – lovingly called Alpenherzen – were designed by Norbert Muerrle. They are cool, sexy, attractive, desirable, and chic. The earrings have a matte finish on one side and a glossy finish on the other.

Inside the hearts, white Akoya cultured pearls 8 mm in size are embedded, which move with every motion. The pearls, which are perfectly round and have a very beautiful luster, make the heart very elegant and particularly interesting.

The ear hooks were also developed with our in-house designer Norbert Muerrle. These hooks can be worn optionally with or without ear pendants. The end is a stainless steel ball. For the hooks, there is a left and a right side. Ideally, the ball points away from the ear.

Humphrey offers a 2-year warranty on jewelry pieces with proper care. However, the lifespan is unlimited. Most jewelry pieces ever produced by Humphrey are still worn.

Humphrey’s Akoya pearls:

The country of origin of the Akoya pearl is Japan. Akoya pearls reach a size of 3 to 11 mm. The growth is very slow, about 0.15 – 0.3 mm per year. The pearls should have a layer of 0.6 mm and can therefore only be harvested after about 4 years.

The following criteria must be met for HUMPHREY:

Color: The Akoya pearls are generally white. In the case of the gray pearls, they are treated.

Luster: The luster of the Akoya pearl is very pronounced and depends on the thickness of the pearl’s layers.

Shape: The shape of Akoya pearls is usually round. For Humphrey jewelry pieces, it must be perfectly round and should have a flawless surface.

Size: The pearl must match the stainless steel jewelry in size and therefore be very precise in diameter.

The HUMPHREY jewelry wearer thus has the certainty of owning a special piece of jewelry.

Dangers for the pearls:

Pearls are sensitive to chemical and physical influences due to their chemical composition (e.g., they should be removed for showering and hair washing).

They consist predominantly of calcium carbonate and the organic horny substance conchiolin.

Pearls are sensitive to high heat, dryness, and moisture.

Care of the pearls:

There are special cleaning baths for this purpose that are mild. Pearls should preferably not be cleaned with ultrasound.

You can clean the pearls yourself from time to time in a simple way. Place the pearl in a bath of lukewarm water mixed with a splash of a gentle detergent and some alcohol, and brush gently. Then rinse the pearl with clear water and dry the pearl with a soft cloth. Every two to three years, you can carefully rub the pearl with lanolin.
