The elegant Zenith G.F.J. brings back to life the legendary caliber 135, the most awarded movement from the golden age of observatory chronometer competitions, reengineered to integrate subtle yet meaningful improvements that enhance its reliability, precision, and overall performance without compromising its essence. Its slender 39mm platinum round case features a stepped bezel and curved stepped lugs. Its 3-part blue dial combines a brick guilloche pattern, lapis lazuli and mother-of-pearl. Delivered with 3 different straps: a dark blue alligator leather strap, a black calfskin leather strap and a blue “Saffiano” calfskin leather strap.
To celebrate its 160th anniversary, Zenith releases the G.F.J., named for the initials of the maker’s founder, Georges Favre-Jacot. This elegant timepiece in platinum resurrects the legendary calibre 135 into the 21st century. This award-winning movement was specifically designed to compete in chronometry competitions. The dial is crafted from lapis lazuli, evoking a starry sky as a reference to the inspiration behind the Maison’s name, and features a “brick” guilloche pattern, representing the facade of the Zenith Manufacture. The calibre 135 is the rebirth of the record-setting eponymous calibre – the most awarded movement from the golden age of observatory chronometer competitions. Beating at 2.5Hz, its oversized balance wheel features regulation screws, a Breguet overcoil and a double arrow-shaped regulator. The power reserve of this modern re-engineering has been extended to 72 hours and it now incorporates a stop-second mechanism.
